About the ensemble
Forget about tailcoats, glittering capes, and tired rabbit-pulling-out-of-a-hat tricks. Aleš Hrdlička is the embodiment of what a 21st-century magician should look like. Over the course of his more than twenty-year career, he has captivated audiences on the glittering stages of Las Vegas, the bustling streets of Shanghai, and even the most remote corners of Africa. A graduate of the prestigious Codarts circus university in Rotterdam and the reigning Czech Champion in modern magic, he reliably pushes the boundaries of what the human hand and eye can achieve.
His secret weapon is not a cheap illusion, but a masterful blend of precise juggling, contemporary circus performance, and modern magic. On stage (and on the pavement), he creates a visually captivating world where the laws of physics operate somewhat according to his own rules. Get ready for this illusionist with the soul of a street performer to make you question everything you’ve ever considered real.
About the production
A magic show? Yes, but definitely not the kind that puts you to sleep with boredom. In the interactive show Waa-ba!, don’t expect any unnecessary props, women being sawed in half, or locked in tight cages. And although his last name might initially suggest otherwise, Aleš Hrdlička really doesn’t pull any fluttering doves out of his sleeves!
Instead, you’re in for just under forty minutes during which logic gets a well-deserved break. Waa-ba! is a loose cannon full of interactive spoken magic and lightning-fast juggling, where there’s no safe distance—you’re right at the epicenter of the magic. While children get a healthy dose of wonder and playfulness, adults are sure to be left speechless and will secretly begin to question the laws of physics. Set aside all rationality for a moment and let your imagination run wild; this show will simply disarm the whole family.
