About the ensemble
Blackout Paradox is a Czech art troupe working in the field of street theatre, physical acting, acrobatics and flow arts. Its creative roots date back to 2017, when it was founded by Michael Bartizal and Michaela Hradecká. Their work is based on the combination of a strong visual style, expressive choreography and themes that bring myths, symbols and stories from all corners of the world to the audience. They often work with fire, light, large-scale objects and expressive sets. Their performances are full of movement, energy and images that linger in the memory.
About the show
"Creation" is a street dance-acrobatic performance by Blackout Paradox, loosely inspired by the ancient Greek myth of the creation of the world by Robert Graves. The performance depicts the story of the goddess Eurynome, who rises from the initial chaos, separates the sea from the sky and creates the world through dance. By rubbing the wind in her hands, she gives life to the serpent Ophion; their union creates the egg of Omnipotence, from which all existence is born.
Audiences can look forward to large puppets of mythical creatures, a glowing underworld full of sparks, a dancing stilt-walker and elaborate choreography with both illuminated and fiery props. The show is suitable for the whole family and offers a unique visual experience.
