About the ensemble

Manolo Alcántara is from Catalonia and, as he himself says, is a self-taught circus performer.
He has received several prestigious art awards. His work is inspired by intuition, curiosity, and his life journey.
Manolo is not only a remarkable circus artist, but he considers himself first and foremost a craftsman. He also creates his own set pieces. And it is precisely this transformation from craftsman to artist—and the process of passing down craftsmanship from ancestors to descendants—that forms the theme of the acclaimed performance MAÑA.

About the show

This is a performative installation whose central theme is the ingenuity and timelessness of universal building elements, viewed from both an artistic and a craftsmanship perspective.
Architecture is a form of choreography based on the principle of economy of movement and effort.
" My father taught me how to build vaults, and MAÑA is the way I would teach my son to build them "
