About the ensemble
Blackout Paradox is an artistic ensemble founded by Michael Bartizal and Michaela Hradecká in 2017. The group focuses on street art and flow arts with elements of physical theatre, dance and acrobatics.
Our performances combine flow arts, movement theatre, dance, acrobatics and martial arts. In addition to fire and light shows, we also create street performances. We emphasize elaborate choreography, perfect technique, expression and stage presence of the performers. We are looking for new ways in movement art. We are learning. We pass on experience. We inspire each other.
About the show
A story about the indomitability of the human spirit
in the face of an endless desert landscape.
A performance loosely inspired by culture
of nomadic tribes combines physical
theatre and flow arts.
The central motif is the journey of the tribe
of the Nomad tribe in search of a life-giving oasis.
Wandering through the sand dunes is accompanied by
exhaustion and determination, joy and encounters with mythical desert mirages.
Set design works with variability
of large banners that are momentarily
an abode, one minute a sand dune,
one minute a sledge driven by a desert
by the wind.
Dynamic choreography
supported by lavish costumes,
the swirling skirts of the warriors and the illusionary
fan dancers draw you into the action
of this fairy tale story.
