About the ensemble

Feminine charm, vintage elegance, and perfect musical harmony. All the Slovak group Paper Moon Trio needs to create an authentic atmosphere of days gone by is a few acoustic instruments and a single shared microphone. Andrea plays the guitar, Barbora the ukulele and banjolele, and Kristína holds the violin. These three ladies first met while playing in the Bratislava Hot Serenaders orchestra, and since 2013 they have been performing as an independent vocal-instrumental trio. They specialize in brilliant interpretations of American and Czechoslovak jazz hits from the 1920s to the 1950s. They have released two successful studio albums and won the Jazz START UP competition.

About the production

If you have a soft spot for vintage jazz, this concert will instantly transport you back several decades. The Paper Moon Trio’s sound is based on a specific vocal technique called “close harmony.” In this style, three voices blend seamlessly to create the warm, harmonious sound made famous by the Boswell Sisters, among others.
The ladies create all the musical arrangements themselves and offer pure acoustic swing on stage without any unnecessary effects. During their performance, the melodies will get your blood pumping, so even die-hard opponents of dancing will start tapping their feet to the rhythm without even realizing it. An elegant and energetic musical journey awaits you, one that is sure to fill you with the joy and playfulness of bygone eras.
