About the ensemble
Pavlína Podzimková is a performer, acrobat and lecturer. She is a member of Cirk La Putyka and collaborates with AirGym Art Company. She teaches acrobatics courses at CLP Studio, AirGym and occasionally at Cirqueon. In 2019 she completed the Professional Course at Gravity Circus School in the UK. Her speciality is aerial acrobatics, especially trapeze, scarf and harness dance. She enjoys finding her own ways in these disciplines and absolutely loves working at great heights.
Tomas Brt is a performer and acrobat, member of the Cirk La Putyka troupe. Originally a climber from Adršpach, he traded rocks for circus. His domain is acrobatics on the Chinese pole - a discipline that has no significant representation in the Czech Republic. He also works with the pole in the air, where he goes to heights on the flying field. He also does ground acrobatics, his path to it led from yoga practice through movement and contact improvisation to his own acrobatic vocabulary. Freedom in movement is important to him, he prefers to improvise freely.
Pole on the Beach is their first original project, combining both their circus disciplines and their different energies and approaches to making
About the show
Pole on the Beach is a duet between two acrobats on the beach. A new-art collage with the flavour of summer, holiday and naive humour. A colourful postcard from the holidays and a memory of summer love smelling of gin and coconuts. A summer romance as colourful as parasols on the beach and as light as the sand left in your swimsuit. Using circus techniques such as Chinese pole acrobatics and aerial acrobatics, we'll take you on an all-inclusive holiday.
The show is suitable for young and old lovers of summer and pineapples.
