About the show
"Fiammiferi" is a visually impressive and musically rich performance by the Belgian ensemble La Cie des Six Faux Nez, which was created in 2021 as a loose adaptation of Andersen's fairy tale The Little Match Girl. Three actors and musicians - Benoît Creteur, Barbara Moreau and Vincent Verbeeck - together with a puppet and a mobile 'pop-up' caravan create a wordless tragi-comic spectacle that appeals to audiences of all ages from 8 years upwards.
Based on material gathered during the 2019-2020 artists' residency in schools, the show aims to open up discussion about social inequalities and poverty through poetry, humour and music. "Fiammiferi" has been performed at various festivals and venues, including FiraTàrrega in Spain, Festival des Marionnettes de Charleville-Mézières in France and Musée Olympique in Lausanne.
