About the ensemble
The director Petra Tejnorová used to have the group Sgt.Tejnorová & The Commando, the dancer and choreographer Tereza Ondrová used to have the dance group VerTeDance. Everything is ephemeral, and so these groups have also disappeared. Both artists' passion for connecting and crossing different genres and disciplines culminated in the creation of a new creative platform, Temporary Collective. Its core is formed by producer Daniela Řeháková. Currently, Temporary Collective is also co-created by photographer Marek Bartoš, musician and visual artist Dominik Žižka and producer Júlia Pecková.
Temporary Collective focuses on the possibility to explore different territories and different media.
Temporary Collective is not based on permanence, i.e. on a permanent space, on one theatre, on one permanent place - but on the contrary, it creates its identity through the variety of connections and places where theatre and dance can take place and in what composition of the team it can emerge.
Temporary collective likes to regroup and build on experimental forms - which it then develops!.
Temporary collective likes different rhythms - some of our projects are long term and some are just short series of events. Emergence and demise. Premiere and derniéra.
Temporary Collective is a changing and living creative organism. They like to create and gather in collectives for their own intrinsic reasons for creating and their own need to work on something together. No, out of inertia. That's practically why their name is TEMPORARY COLLECTIVE!
About the show
SILENT is a thirty-five minute sound performance for a group of spectators in a public space, during which the body and mind receive movement instructions. One voice begins the first audio, is followed by another, and together they create a series of voices that connect in a unified landscape of thought and movement.
SILENT responds to the pandemic of the Covid-19 virus, to its impact on public space, to closed borders and the impossibility of travel, to the exposed vulnerability of our bodies. How do we, as individuals, connect with each other in such a world? What does the body remember and what does it no longer remember? Can we make new connections? Can we experience intimacy in such a world? How have our bodies changed in this time? The body in the starring role - in the space between solitude and sharing. Explore a new experience with us!
The performance will take place with headphones, which will be available for each spectator to borrow at the venue.
The project builds on other activities of the international research project DANCING MUSEUMS, of which SILENT is a part. It is organised by Tanec Praha in cooperation with the National Theatre and the National Theatre of Prague.
Audio performance with a limited capacity of 35 spectators. For additional spectators above capacity, we can only provide a visual experience
The performance is in English.
