About the project
Children! Come and play your favourite fairy tale by yourself at last! Only you know how it really ends... In our puppet theatre you can try what it's like to play puppet theatre - become an actor, director, musician or theatre critic for a while. And if you don't know how to get started, there's a magic starter where you can draw the beginning of a fairy tale.
Puppet+play=Puppetry. Puppet Playground. Five original self-contained puppet theatre structures with different backdrops and a set of puppets designed for a public space open to play and develop the imagination of the whole family. A reminder of the baroque tradition of puppet theatres, and at the same time a new form of interaction space for entertainment. An open play for all children with imagination and parents without it.
The author of the concept is Táňa Švehlová, the authors of the puppets and constructions for the puppet theatre are Zuzana Smolová and Peter Gaffney (Waxwing Theatre). The programme is supported by the State Fund for Culture, the Life of the Artist Foundation and the International Visegrad Fund.
